Philly Girls Garden.

phillygirlsgardenI am so proud of the girls today! This afternoon we went to Turning Points for Children, just around the corner from our school. The girls were introduced to the food pantry program there. The Food and Wellness Network (FAWN), “is a community based food pantry offering nutritious emergency food plus nutrition information, infant formula, and diapers to over 500 struggling, poverty-level families, annually.”  The girls assisted in transplanting tomatoes, basil, okra, and more! Next week we will help fill new planter boxes. It was wonderful to get outside for a change and get our hands dirty. We are very grateful to be involved with such a wonderful community project. We will work on “I grow” poems next week before we return. I can’t wait!
