This Friday night I hope I am sitting at Underground Arts enjoying the final Story Slam of the season. I attended two this year! (Valentines Day and Geek Out.) During both slams I found myself laughing along, feeling empathetic, and even red with embarrassment. I love connecting to the human experience through the art of storytelling. It’s something we participate in on a daily basis, but take for granted. Here are some more details about the show and location. Please by tickets in advance. I hear this show sells out!
Date: May 31, 2013
Time: Doors at 7pm, Slam starts at 8pm
Location: Underground Arts at the Wolf Building (1200 Callowhill St., Philadelphia)
“Cheer on winners from First Person Arts’ monthly StorySlams as they compete for the title of “Best Storyteller in Philadelphia.” Using their storytelling prowess and real life experiences for inspiration, our contestants try to win over the judges with their most outrageous, heart wrenching, and hilarious personal tales. The theme is “Power.” Hosted by Martha Cooney and R. Eric Thomas.”
