We Real Cool.

Today marks the first day of  the Girls Rule The World: Writing Young Philly workshop at Mighty Writers! I am finding it impossible to contain myself! As I search for the right words to express this excitement, poet Gwendoyln Brooks comes to mind. Her voice, her rhythm, her tone… It all translates to a sound that makes me think of Philadelphia and being a “cool” girl in the city. (However, I have to note that she was a Chicago native.)

We Real Cool
By Gwendolyn Brooks
